Easy to operate.
Low maintenance cost.
24 hours delivery of all spare parts.
Custom designed.

2-SHOULD I FOLLOW AGAR CENTRIFUGAL PUMPS INSTRUCTIONS?
Yes Indeed. The installation and operating instructions contain basic guidelines to be observed regarding the installation, operation and maintenance of the system. It is necessary, therefore, instructions must be read by the installer, relevant staff and the owner before installation and commissioning. Also, the staff should have access to the instructions at all times at the installation site.
3- WHAT KIND OF FLUIDS CAN YOUR PUMPS WORK WITH?
Our pumps are designed to work with abrasive and corrosive fluids, especially fluids from the extractive industry.
4- WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PUMP MODEL H AND MP?
The main difference is the pump operating pressure; model MP pumps can work at a higher pressure while model H pumps work at a lower pressure.
5- HOW DO I CHOOSE THE RIGHT PUMP?
In order to choose a pump the following information will be needed; water flow, total head, suction pressure, type of application and type of power available. For vertical pumps you should also know the level of pumping as well as the well/sumps dimensions.
6- ARE YOUR PUMPS DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN?
Quite the contrary. The maintenance of our pumps is very simple and does not require specialized personnel. All our pumps are accompanied by the necessary documentation for proper maintenance. Such documentation can be downloaded from our website.
In any case, our technical staff will advise you on anything you need.
7- WHAT TYPES OF IMPELLERS OR TURBINES ARE AVAILABLE?
All our pumps can have closed or open impellers; in both cases the rubber quality can be either abrasion resistant natural rubber or corrosion resistant neoprene. The core of the impeller can be made in carbon steel or AISI316 stainless steel.
.
8- HOW IS THE PUMP RUBBER COATING REPLACED?
The pump rubber coating is replaced by hot moulding in the factory. This process is performed within 24 hours.
9- WHAT IS THE AVERAGE SERVICE LIFE OF THE PROPELLER AND SPARE RUBBER PARTS?
The duration of any spare rubber parts will depend on the service conditions as well as on many other factors such as working conditions of the pump, fluid, pressure, etc. Therefore, it is not possible to make a specific estimate.
10- WHAT IS THE DELIVERY TIME OF ANY SPARE PARTS?
Rest assured, we have stock of all our products and can deliver any spare part within 24 hours anywhere in the country.
11- WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM SOLIDS CONTENT IN THE FLUID TO BE TRANSPORTED?
The maximum solids content in the fluid should not exceed 25% -30%. A higher solids content will shorten the pump life and increase the risk of potential blockages in the circuit.
12- WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM PARTICLE SIZE?
The maximum particle size will depend on the pump model and can reach up to 35-40 mm.
13- WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE OF THE FLUID?
As a general rule the maximum temperature is between 80-90°C. For higher temperatures check with the factory.
14- HOW DO I PREPARE PUMPS FOR LOW TEMPERATURES?
The pumped medium must be completely drained from the pump chambers. Otherwise, the liquid may freeze during the period of frost and damage the internal components of the pump. It is possible to repair the equipment, but repairs can be quite costly. Check our information on preinstallation conditions.
15- CAN I CHANGE THE PUMP OUTLET ORIENTATION?
In all our models the discharge outlet can be rotated in any direction to suit the needs of your installation but you should check with the factory on how to change it.
16- WHAT TYPES OF SEALING DO AGAR PUMPS HAVE?
Our pumps have two types of sealing: either by traditional gland packing, or by mechanical seal. To choose the sealing system, you must take the following into account:
Mechanical seal
-The mechanical seal is completely watertight.
-The mechanical seal requires no maintenance.
-The mechanical seal requires refrigeration.
-Ideal to keep facilities clean.
Gland packing
-Easy and quick access to pack chamber.
-Can work without cooling but it is not recommended.
-Low cost.
Please note that all our horizontal pumps have a reversible sealing system.. In order to do so the appropriate shaft sleeve and stuffing box for each system should be replaced accordingly.
Both systems require refrigeration by injection of clean water at a higher pressure than the current pump working pressure.
17- HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GLAND PACK THE PUMP?
When you notice that the pump leaks or loses water through the stuffing box you must add gland packing rings. Take care not to overtighten the stuffing box nut.
18- HOW DO I KNOW IF THE MECHANICAL SEAL SYSTEM IS WORKING PROPERLY?
The mechanical seal is totally watertight. If you notice a slight dripping or loss of water, this means it is time to replace it with a new one.
19- CAN AGAR PUMPS WORK WITHOUT COOLING WATER?
In cases where there is no cooling water available you must use a small container of water to create a closed circuit for recirculating the cooling water. For this purpose a minor modification must be made in the stuffing box nut to facilitate water recirculation. In cases where cooling is not possible we recommend the use of pumps with a gland packing sealing system.
20- WHAT TYPES OF TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS CAN I CHOOSE?
The coupling of the motor to all Agar® pumps can be done using pulleys and belts or by means of a shaft coupling.
21- IS IT POSSIBLE TO VARY THE PUMP FLOW RATE?
Yes, providing the pump transmission be via pulleys and belts. In this case it will be sufficient to vary, increase or decrease the motor pulley diameter to obtain a greater or smaller flow rate. If in doubt please ask our technical staff.
In case of transmission by direct coupling you will need to install a variable frequency drive or frequency converter.
