1- WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF THE PINCH VALVES COMPARED WITH OTHER TYPES OF VALVES?
The main advantage of the pinch valve is its resistance to abrasion, since its straight full bore offers little resistance to the fluid. Furthermore the fluid conveyed is only in contact with an elastic rubber sleeve and no metal part. The only wear part, the sleeve, is cheap and easy to replace; these features extend the life of the valve considerably.
2- HOW DO I FIND THE IDEAL PINCH VALVE FOR THE RIGHT APPLICATION?
Each pinch valve has advantages and limitations to be taken into account. Our Sales Department will advise you.
3- HOW DO I CHOOSE BETWEEN MANUAL OR AUTOMATED VALVES?
Manual pinch valves are used preferably where no automation is required due to infrequent valve manipulation. However, when manipulation is frequent or the valve is placed in an inaccessible position it is advisable to use automated valves.
4- WHAT PINCH VALVE SLEEVE SHOULD I SHOULD FOR INSTALLATION?
Choosing the most suitable rubber for the valve sleeves will always depend on the fluid characteristics and operating temperatures. As a general guide line we can say that natural rubber con be used for all bulk materials, sludge, powders and suspensions with operating temperatures < 80 °C with no chemical additives and/or no chemical resistance requirements. With regards to other fluids with special requirements, such as chemical resistance, compatibility with food and/or higher operating temperatures, our sales team will give you advice to suit your needs.
5- WHAT ARE THE MAXIMUM PRESSURE LEVELS FOR EVERY PINCH VALVE?
Pinch valves can withstand, depending on their nominal diameter, to a maximum operating pressure of up to 14 bar.
6- WHAT TYPES OF MATERIAL CAN BE CHOSEN FOR THE PINCH VALVES?
For pinch valves –both manual and automated- you can choose between natural rubber, Natural rubber food safe (FDA approved),Neoprene, Hypalon, Nitrile, Nitrile rubber food safe (FDA approved) , Butyl, Butyl rubber food safe (FDA approved) and EPDM.
7- ARE FOOD SAFE RUBBER PINCH VALVES ALSO CERTIFIED?
Yes, there are several types of food safe rubber sleeves. FDA certification issued.
8- ARE THERE DIFFERENT TYPES OF RUBBER SLEEVES?
We manufacture standard rubber sleeves, depressed rubber sleeves, suction rubber sleeves and reinforced rubber sleeves.
9- DO YOU MANUFACTURE THE PINCH VALVES YOURSELVES?
Yes, we have been manufacturing AGAR pinch valves -both manual and automated- since 1956.
10- HOW ARE YOUR PINCH VALVES SLEEVES MANUFACTURED?
The pinch valve sleeves are hand-made items individually produced with special tooling. The whole manufacturing process is laborious and carried out by qualified personnel.
11- WHERE ARE YOUR PINCH SLEEVES MANUFACTURED?
The sleeves are manufactured in our factory in Santander, headquarters of the company since 1956.
12- CAN ANYONE REPLACE THE PINCH VALVE SLEEVE?
Yes, all valve sleeves can be replaced on site without any special tools. For this purpose, we provide assembly instructions on the website, in the “Downloads” section.
13- IS IT POSSIBLE TO CHANGE BY ONE SELF THE AUTOMATED VALVE SLEEVE ON SITE?
Yes, all automated valve sleeves can be changed on site without any special tools. For this purpose, we provide assembly instructions on the website, in the “Downloads” section.
14- HOW IS THE MAINTENANCE OF PINCH VALVES CARRIED OUT AND WHAT ARE THE SPARE/WEAR PARTS?
Being the rubber sleeve the only spare/wear part in contact with the media, our website provides online rubber sleeve replacement instructions.
15- WHAT DO YOUR MARKS ON THE PINCH VALVE SLEEVES MEAN?
The marks provide information on the type of sleeve, manufacturing batch, rubber quality and sleeve diameter.
16- CAN I EXCHANGE AGAR RUBBER SLEEVES WITH OTHER SLEEVES MANUFACTURERS?
No. Our rubber sleeves are designed specifically for our AGAR pinch valves. AGAR sleeves are not compatible with any other pinch valves.
17- WHAT IS THE SERVICE LIFE OF AN AUTOMATED PINCH VALVE.?
The service life of an automated pinch valve is substantially dependent on the pinch valve sleeve, which in term depends on many factors and service conditions, such as control/closing pressure, medium/service pressure, operating temperature and the means of production. It is therefore not possible to make a specific estimate of the service life.
18- CAN THE PNEUMATIC AUTOMATED PINCH VALVE BE KEPT CLOSED EVEN IF THERE IS NO AIR PRESSURE?
Yes, the pneumatic automated pinch valve can be kept closed only by means of using an extra air pressure cylinder.
